Woman Arrested After Finding Brother's Alleged Killer, Then Murders Him!

Tityana Coppage / The Jackson County Detention Center

You cannot help but feel this sisters pain. 22-year-old Tityana Coppage, has been charged with second-degree murder after police say she tracked down the man suspected of murdering her 16-year-old last week, then killed him. Police claim she sent a text to her dead brothers phone after letting him know she had avenged him.

Police say Coppage allegedly shot her brother's suspected killer Jan. 13 after meeting him in a parking lot. Coppage allegedly admitted to having called the victim before the shooting, yet stated she didn not intend to hurt the man but wanted to help settle the differences between her father and the alleged killer before they killed each other. Coppage allegedly admitted to getting into an exchange of gunfire with the victim, yet claims self defense stating her brothers alleged killer shot her vehicle first before she returned fire, according to a narrative written by police in a probable cause affidavit.

Police allegedly found text in Coppage's cell phone sent to a contact named "Auntie", asking for .45-caliber bullets and saying, "LOL I sued to many on bro." Another text she allegedly sent to her dead brother saying, "Sent a [expletive] to my brother I owe em that body," according to the affidavit.

Coppage's brother, 16-year-old Jason Ugwuh, was shot and killed Jan. 10 in Kansas City, MO. He was a junior in High School and a standout basketball player.

Coppage and Ugwuh were struck by tragedy in 2016, when their younger brother and cousin---Jayden Ugwuh and Montell Ross---were also shot and killed, while sleeping in their home. Someone had shot into the house, killing the boys, who were 8 and 9 years old. That case remains unsolved.
