It has been 30 years since Janet Jackson released the "Rhythm Nation 1814" album produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Jam and Lewis went into detail about how the song "Rhythm Nation" was created. “When you’re sitting in the studio for long hours, you tend to watch a lot of television. Back then, there were probably 50 channels. You had to have MTV, BET, VH1, and CNN. These channels were constantly playing on our TV in the studio. We would flip between MTV to watch music videos and CNN to see what was happening in the world. Somehow, it almost became a blur to us.” said Jimmy Jam in an previous interview. Congrats to Janet Jackson for selling over 12 million copies of "Rhythm National 1814" and for going six-times platinum certified by Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
