Netflix is not playing any games with those of you who like to share your password. The streaming service obviously is aware that they can, and probably lost a lot of money because people don't have to subscribe, they can just borrow a friend's info to watch what they want to watch. There are reports that Netflix will add a new tier of subscription prices and at the same time crack down on password sharing.
I think the tier piece would work because not everybody wants to watch Netflix all day long, some may just want to see a couple of movies per month, or per week. While others may want to pay more to get more.
It's also being reported Netflix laid off about 150 of its employees, many of them minorities. I wonder if this had anything to do with a loss of revenue because of subscription sharing, or something else.
