Polo G is dealing with another legal headache.
According to a report the New York Daily News published on Thursday, April 11, the "Pop Out" rapper was hit with a pair of gun charges after a loaded weapon was discovered in his hotel room in Manhattan. Polo G, born Taurus Barnett, was arraigned at the Manhattan Criminal Court on Thursday after a maid discovered a black Glock on the loveseat while she was cleaning his room at the Dominick Hotel in SoHo. The criminal complaint said the gun had one bullet ready to go and nine bullets in the magazine.
Polo G was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm. Prosecutors claimed the Chicago-born MC was a flight risk and also brought up his previous arrest in California. Last August, Polo G and his brother Taurean a.k.a Trench Baby were arrested for various crimes following a raid on their mansion in Los Angeles. The rapper was charged with illegal possession of the short-barreled rifle after police discovered multiple firearms on his property. His brother was charged with robbery after an alleged victim claimed Trench Baby robbed him during a music video shoot. During a court appearance, his attorney Stacey Richman asserted there was "no incentive to flee because he has a career he’s built.”
Judge Kevin McGrath ordered a cash bail of $25,000. Polo posted bail shortly after the ruling and was released from custody. As of this report, neither he nor his team have issued a statement about the incident.
