New Music Report - New Releases Week of September 25th

Happy Monday! Kickstart your week ahead by checking out all of the new music that has just been released in this roundup of new songs, new albums, and new artists that you need to be listening to. From new albums from Macklemore and Fergie, to new songs from Walk The Moon and Demi Lovato, to new collaborations from DJ Snake & LAUV and Kygo & Justin Jesso, take a look at this week's New Releases.

Fergie - Double Dutchess

Despite the multiple pushback and leak, Fergieโ€™s Double Duchess finally sees the light of day and itโ€™s a true testament to the pop starโ€™s shaping shifting ways. On the set, listeners hear just how versatile the singer can be within the realms of pop music. Whether it's the hard-hitting styling of "Hungry" featuring Rick Ross or the contemporary adult territory of "Life Goes On," Fergie Ferg lets her character fly free on the sophomore effort. But Double Duchess isnโ€™t just an album. Itโ€™s a visual project, which is likely to draw attention from the BeyHive. "[My album] is completely different than Beyoncรฉ's [Lemonade], but absolutely, sheโ€™s an inspiration to me in all areas,โ€ Fergie told Entertainment Tonight. "Performance, drive, balanceโ€ฆ I mean, she is the Queen B.โ€ See: "M.I.L.F. $" and "Just Like You"

Macklemore - GEMINI

Macklemore's new album GEMINI has finally arrived. The Seattle rapper's record features 16 new songs including his previously released singles "Glorious" (featuring Skylar Grey) and "Marmalade" (featuring Lil Yachty). The new album also showcases other collaborations with artists like Kesha, Migos' Offset, Dan Caplen, Donna Missal, Eric Nally, and several more.

In an interview with iHeartRadio, Macklemore talks about his album, and what it was like to work with Kesha. He says, "Kesha is one of my favorite people. She's amazing. We had a great time in studio. She's one of those artists that just comes in and is super comfortable, vulnerable, cool with who she is as an artist, as a person, and immediately felt like kindred spirits. It was awesome."

The Killers - Wonderful Wonderful

Everything is Wonderful Wonderful for The Killers, because the band just released their fifth studio album, and first album in five years. Wonderful Wonderful follows 2012's Battle Born, and features ten new songs, including singles "The Man" and "Run For Cover."

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers recently told Rolling Stone of their new album, "I don't want to chase what's on the radio. The best way to put it is that I wanted to inhabit my age, so it's a snapshot โ€“ a true representation of where we're at."

The Killers

Lights - Skin&Earth

Speaking of concept and larger than life albums, Lights has released Skin&Earth, a collection that took the star two years to complete. Grabbing inspiration from the likes of Drake and X Ambassadors, the project revolves around a comic book, with each of the songs being built around it. "I wrote about 60 songs for the record and narrowed it down to the best songs. Once we had them slated out, I went into writing and fleshed out the story. I had a novel, because I donโ€™t know how to write comics! I just had this basic idea,โ€ she said in a recent interview. "I had no idea what to do so I approached Brian K. Vaughan, who I love, and he talked me into going for it. I storyboarded it out and realized I wrote 80% too much so I stripped it back.โ€ See: โ€œSkydivingโ€ and โ€œMagnetic Field"

Walk The Moon - "One Foot"

Walk the Moon has returned to give fans some brand new music! The band is shared their new single "One Foot," which is their first song to follow their 2014 album Talking Is Hard, and is the lead single from Walk the Moon's forthcoming yet-to-be-titled fourth full-length studio album.

Walk the Moon's lead singer Nicholas Petricca says of the meaning behind the band's new high-energy single, "We've never felt more true to ourselves than we do right now, releasing this song and this upcoming record. 'One Foot' is the soundtrack of our journey this past year, moving forward even when the path is uncertain."

The band also released the official "One Foot" music video, which was filmed during the recent Great American Eclipse last month (August). The visual was directed by Robert Hales and filmed in Joshua Three National Park using special lenses -- similar to the glasses people all over the country were wearing to witness the Eclipse, with the visual effects done by artist and creative director, Felipe Posada โ€“ The Invisible Realm.

Miley Cyrus - "Week Without You"

Almost a week before the release of her new album, Younger Now, Miley Cyrus has shared a slow-burning cut from the upcoming set called "Week Without You" and it's all about a broken relationship. On the almost-four-minute track, the pop star goes in and out of her romantic woes atop the cut's country-charged production. "I know that I gave you my heart, but you stomped it to the ground/ And that's what's got me wondering what it's like to not have you around," she sings of the lost romance during the chorus. "Week Without You" was co-written and co-produced by Cyrus. It's actually one of her many contributions to the set, which drops September 29. In fact, she has co-writing and co-producing credits on every single track on the LP.

Demi Lovato - "Sexy Dirty Love"

Demi Lovato is all about that "Sexy Dirty Love" on the newest appetizer from her forthcoming album, Tell Me You Love Me, which is scheduled to drop September 29, and the track is a flirty number in honor of lust. Taking pages from the disco and funk eras, Lovato puts sex at the frontline of things as she takes her aim for the dance floor. "Hittin' me up late always be blowin' up my phone/ I'm lying awake wonderin' why I'm still alone/ Lord knows I am sinning, please forgive me for my lust/ Sending pictures back and forth/ Babe, I'm craving your touch," the 25-year-old sings during the sassy number.  "Sexy Dirty Love" is the latest cut off the pop star's LP, which has already spawned tracks like lead single "Sorry Not Sorry," "You Don't Do It For Me Anymore" and the title track, "Tell Me You Love Me.โ€

Kygo - Stargazing EP

Surprise! Kygo has been hitting us with some new music lately, but little did we know, he would give us an entire five-track EP. The Norwegian DJ/producer shared his Stargazing EP, which includes a new song of the same name featuring singer/songwriter Justin Jesso, as well as another new song called "This Town" featuring Sasha Sloan. Stargazing also features his collaborations with Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding "It Ain't Me" and "First Time," as well as his recently released remix of U2's "You're The Best Thing About Me."

Kygo

DJ Snake featuring LAUV - "A Different Way"

DJ Snake has returned with a brand new single, called "A Different Way," and it features singer/songwriter LAUV. And speaking of songwriting, the new track was actually co-written by none other than Ed Sheeran, Johnny McDaid, Steve Mac, and DJ Snake himself, in addition to a few more friends. The producer/DJ actually debuted "A Different Way" during a Facebook live in a 23-minute mix, which included his other hits, that took place at the top of Arc de Triomphe in his native Paris -- talk about "A Different Way" to premiere your own music!

Kelsea Ballerini - "High School"

With just over a month left to go before we can get our hands on Kelsea Ballerini's seconds tudio album Unapologetically, the country singer/songwriter shared a brand new song from the LP called "High School." The mellow song is about realizing that sometimes things or people just don't change. In the chorus, Kelsea sings, "But this ain't high school/Where all you care about is if the pretty cheerleader thinks you're cool/See her Friday, take her out after the football game'/Cause it's five years later and you can't get off of the elevator/That's going up, 'cause you're growing up/And the world gets cruel when you're still living in high school."

Kelsea recently told Time of the story behind "High School":

"Honestly, this is the one song that I've written by myself in the last two years, so it's really special to me. I wrote it so quickly. I think sometimes when you go back to your hometown after your life has changed so much, you realize that some things don't change โ€” and some things do. And I was one of the things that did. Part of that was really bitter, and part of that was really sweet. I think it was just one of those songs where I realized that I'd changed a lot."

Noah Cyrus featuring XXXTENTACION - "Again"

Noah Cyrus is taking a page from her sisterโ€™s book of controversy by releasing a new collaboration called โ€œAgain,โ€ which features headline-making rapper XXXTENTACION. On the mid-tempo track, which dropped simultaneously with the music video, the budding pop star pleads for love, but the guest verse from the MC proves to be the more newsworthy bit about the actual cut itself. Cyrusโ€™ release of the song is a risky move after Pitchfork's brutal 142-page transcript reveal of the Florida rapper's domestic abuse claims.

Wizkid featuring Future - "Everytime"

Nigerian superstar Wizkid called on Future to assist on his latest single โ€œEverytime.โ€ Shizzi and Saalam Remi produced the new track. Throughout the song, both recording artists sing about a woman who has them hooked. โ€œI think about you every day, every second / The way you move your body โ€™round, you flexinโ€™,โ€ sings Future over the Afrobeat. โ€œYou got something in your whine that make me high.โ€ Just a couple months ago, Wizkid dropped his project Sounds From the Other Side, which featured Drake, Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Major Lazer and more. Heโ€™s readying his U.S. debut very soon.

Starrah x Diplo - Starrah x Diplo EP

After plenty of teasing, the fruits of Starrah and Diploโ€™s labor comes to life with the release of their surprise EP. On the five-track collection, which includes the previously released โ€œSwerve,โ€ the pair evoke different levels of sensuality. It hits on smooth R&B and grittier pieces that will probably pair well with your next house party. Whatโ€™s great about this set is that it genuinely sounds effortless, putting the chemistry of these two on the frontline. See: "You Know It" and "Swerve"

Dej Loaf - "Changes"

Get ready for DeJ Loafโ€™s evolution. The Detroit rapper just released a new single entitled โ€œChangesโ€ and the growth that sheโ€™s been going through is very apparent throughout it. โ€œIโ€™ve been going through changes,โ€ she raps. โ€œI prayed to God and I made it / Nobody did me no favors / Iโ€™m sorry if you canโ€™t take it.โ€ The new song will be featured on Loafโ€™s upcoming album, Liberated, which is scheduled to drop later this year. โ€œChangesโ€ follows the rapperโ€™s previously released single โ€œNo Fear.โ€

Tamar Braxton - "Blind"

Tamar Braxton is readying her fifth studio album, Bluebird of Happiness, which drops later this month. So, the star just released her latest single entitled "Blind" and it's so good that you won't be able to stop listening to it. "I'd rather go blind, blind, blind/ Than to see you with her tonight/ I'm done with your lies/ But, I can't say goodbye/ So, I'd rather go blind," Braxton starts off the song.

Bluebird of Happiness will be Braxton's first independent release via her own Logan Land Records. She was previously signed to Epic. The new project will consist of 11 songs with "Blind" being one of them. Co-produced by Rodney Jerkins and her husband, Vincent Herbert, Bluebird of Happiness is set to drop on Sept. 29.

Emeli Sandรฉ - "Starlight"

Emeli Sandรฉ is in a celebratory mood on her new track, "Starlight," which debuted on Annie Macโ€™s show on BBC Radio 1. Produced by Grammy award-winning, Canadian producer/songwriter Illangelo, the track takes the R&B songstress into the clubs as listeners hear her trade in her heavy R&B for something a little more house. โ€œStarlightโ€ is the first taste of new music from Sandรฉ since the release of last yearโ€™s Long Live The Angels.

Kideko featuring Tinie Tempah & Becky G - "Dum Dum"

If you need a new jam to get your dance on to, please get acquainted with this new collaboration between Kideko, Tinie Tempah, and Becky G. "Dum Dum" fuses dance, latin music, and fun lyrics together all in in one catchy song with a rhythm you won't be able to sit still for. In the chorus, Becky G sings about a guy -- the "Dum Dum" -- who's too slow to make his move. She sings, "Oh, that boy, he's so dumb/Been staring all night long/Just wanna have some fun/Oh, that boy, he's so dumb/Too slow to turn this on/Better come before I'm gone."

Cardi B featuring Kodak Black - "Bodak Yellow (Remix)"

Of course Cardi B would call on Kodak Black to jump on the remix of her smash hit! After all, he was the inspiration behind its name. "I named it 'Bodak Yellow' because the flow of the song will remind you of a song that Kodak Black did called 'No Flockin,'" the Bronx rapper previously told Billboard. On this new spin of the song, Black raps, "Cardi B brought the beat, told me re-rock the heat/ Try me, I'll do the race like I'm Tay-K/ It ain't no flockin' over here, lil' buddy/ All lil' zombies over here, lil' buddy."

Ty Dolla $ign โ€“ "Dawsin's Breek" and "Message In A Bottle"

Ty Dolla Signโ€™s next album, Beach House 3, is headed full speed our way. In anticipation for the new projectโ€™s release, $ign has been dropping new music also every single week for the past few weeks now. This past week, the singer dropped two songs: โ€œDawsinโ€™s Breekโ€ featuring Jeremih โ€“ which was produced by Mike WiLL Made-It -- and โ€œMessage In A Bottle.โ€

โ€œI got a brand new coupe,โ€ $ign sings on โ€œDawsinโ€™s Breek.โ€ โ€œI got a brand new โ€˜Rarri / I got a brand new boo / I put my ex in park.โ€ On โ€œMessage In A Bottle,โ€ he croons: โ€œThanks to the message in a bottle. Let me get a swallow / Filling up my cup, section full of models / And we going up like itโ€™s a Tuesday / Drinking โ€™till Iโ€™m woozy / Know Iโ€™m โ€™bout that action / Living like a movie.โ€

A Boogie Wit da Hoodie - "Say A'"

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodieโ€™s debut album, The Bigger Artist, is coming very soon. Thatโ€™s why the New York rapper is giving us fresh, new music thatโ€™ll be featured on the project. โ€œSay Aโ€ is the latest song weโ€™ve heard from the LP. On the song, A Boogie raps about police shootings, making money and more. โ€œLook at me now, b**ch Iโ€™m drowning,โ€ he raps. โ€œAnd my hoodie Saint Laurent, itโ€™s a thousand / And we come straight out the Bronx, so we wildinโ€™ / Shoutout BK, Free Bobby, and Free Rowdy.โ€

Itโ€™ll make you go on one that you wonโ€™t want to end.

Jack & Jack - "Beg"

Jack & Jack just announced that theyโ€™re set to hit the rounds and it sounds like the trek will include new music. Since spreading word of the tour, the pair have released a new single called โ€œBegโ€ and it hears the pop crooners admitting just how much theyโ€™ve become attracted to a lover. Itโ€™s almost intoxicating. All in all, they just donโ€™t want to beg for their lover. It remains particularly chill even though they should probably sound a little more frustrated after being played time and time again.

Torey Lanez - "Shooters"

Tory Lanez is finally giving us a glimpse of his sophomore project with the release of his new song โ€œShooters.โ€ Unlike his previously released, Caribbean-flavored singles like โ€œLuvโ€ or โ€œSay It,โ€ โ€œShootersโ€ is still sure to be a hit. "I came in, I just pulled it off the lot/ Sailing like a pirate how I came in with the yacht/ I came up off of trapping off the spot/ Tell me if you f**kin' cause it's backups if you're not," Lanez raps. The artist has already tweeted that his new album is already done.

Nora En Pure - โ€œFever"

Nora En Pure returns with an energetic ode to intoxicating love with her new single, "Fever." After spending her summer touring across the globe and repping for the ladies as the only female to play Tomorrowlandโ€™s MainStage Daybreak Session, the 27-year-old DJ jumps back on the scene with the almost four-minute cut, which explores the deep and grimy aspects of house and yet still sounds as optimistic as possible.
