DJ Poizon Ivy
Black History isn't always about celebrating the pass sometimes we actually have those making historic strides in the present. DJ Poizon Ivy ( Ivy Awino ) was born in Nairobi, Kenya before her family moved to the states when she was only 9 years old. She would later attend Marquette University and make a name for herself DJ-ing in The Milwaukee County area. Ivy also became the only female member of the V100.7 Mix Squad before heading back to Dallas where she was raised. In 2016 she made history by becoming the first Black female DJ in the NBA as the in game DJ for the Dallas Mavericks.
