The BET Hip Hop Awards a Thing of the Past?!

Scott Mills, CEO of BET, is making drastic changes within the company. The most shocking is putting an end to the Soul Train Awards and the BET Hip Hop Awards. His reasoning is that he basically wants to keep up with the ever changing media landscape and scheme of things. As of now, it is indefinite and the company is brainstorming of new ideas that are comparable.

This is a game changer! Some argue that the event has been commercialized and rigged but on the contrary, I really enjoyed guessing who would take home the awards in each category and watching the performances, pretending I was there.

What would be some new good ideas in place of the awards shows to highlight talent?
