Yesterday, I had the honor of assisting our local community activist, Vaun Mayes, with his 11th annual Gift Drive and it was quite the experience. It takes a village! There were countless volunteers. So many of our dope Milwaukee businesses, as well as dope individuals sponsored and donated to make this event the magnitude it’s grown to be over the years. We (the volunteers) trailed a party bus, filled with influencers and Vaun, 2 Uhauls full of gift bags and a trailer filled to capacity with bikes, tvs and scooters. We then drove to random neighborhoods to surprise unsuspecting families. This was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Pure, organized, joyful chaos lol. The looks on the kid’s faces was literally priceless. Some say there’s a dark cloud over our city but I believe a lot of that is subjective to one’s perspective. There’s a lot of greatness that happens in our city. Let’s be the change we want to see, as well as focus on the positive and give it more publicity and attention than the negative. 🙏🏼❤️
