Monday night the world got a Verzuz Battle we have all been waiting for! Brandy and Monica faced off in a hit for hit music battle, but we couldn't ignore the shots that were thrown throughout the battle. There were so many memes and tweets highlighting the two's shadiest moments of the night. But, in an old interview, co-producer of "The Boy Is Mine" Dallas Austin explains a time where he seen Monica punch Brandy in the face moments before both the ladies had to hit the stage to perform their song "The Boy Is Mine". He said, "The first time they actually saw each other in person, I think it was the American Music Awards or something, and before they could actually get to the stage Monica decked Brandy in the face backstage. I went ‘oh my God!’ This is before the performance so everybody's trying to figure out how we're going to have a performance that looks like they're not at war with each other." Either way, I really enjoyed the Verzuz Battle.Whew I'm just glad these two ladies were able to come together.
