SUPREME: NYPD Shuts Down Release

The NYPD came out in force to shut down the scheduled release of Nike's new Supreme X Nike Foamposite 1 after over 800 fans besieged the sneaker spot Supreme.

The shoe, which retails for $250, wasn't scheduled to drop until this morning (Thursday), but by Wednesday afternoon, the overflow of fans had shut down streets surrounding the store. In announcing the closing, Supreme apologized to fans who'd planned to camp out and suggested that they try to grab the sneakers today on

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

-1.That Supreme site has probably already crashed.

--2.How do people who clearly don't have 9-to-5 jobs have enough money to pay $250 for these sneakers?

---3.Would you camp out overnight for sneakers? Would you camp out overnight for anything?

----4.Stores should have to register these big events and pay for security. Eventually, someone's really going to get hurt.
