LeBron James has a message for his absentee father -- thanks for nothing!
The Miami Heat superstar tells GQ that growing up without a father forced him to become a tougher person and better competitor. He says, "Dad, you know what, I don’t know you, I have no idea who you are, but because of you is part of the reason who I am today. The fuel that I use -- you not being there -- it’s part of the reason I grew up to become who I am... Maybe wouldn’t have happened if I had two parents, two sisters, a dog and a picket fence, you know?”
LeBron's father is rumored to be an Akron, Ohio man named Anthony McClelland. He was raised by his mother Gloria, who had him when she was 16.
TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- People never really get over not knowing their father.
- McClelland has to be kicking himself.
- Should Lebron ever reach out to his pops?
