Kanye West has dabbled in a little film making throughout his career -- dropping the short film Runaway in 2010 and premiering his Cruel Summerduring the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
Now, with American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis writing the screenplay, it appears that Kanye may be working on a full-length feature film inspired by his latest album Yeezus.
Easton tells Vice, "[Kanye] came and asked me to write the film. I didn’t want to at first. Then I listened to Yeezus. He’d given me an advance copy and I thought, regardless of whether I’m right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So [eff] it, I said yes. That was seven or eight months ago. We’ll see what happens."
Kanye put out an American Psycho-inspired short to promote Yeezus before its release.
