HEROIN: A Growing Threat Across the U.S.

The country's top law enforcement officials sounded the alarm Wednesday that heroin and the addiction to other opiates is now killing more people than violent crimes and car crashes in some communities.

Officials warn that the drug is more readily available, is cheaper than prescription opiods and has a deadly purity these days. That number almost doubles the number of homicides in the city during the same time frame.
