NBA commissioner Adam Silver just handed down his punishment of L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling, and it's a doozy.
He's been banned from any association with the NBA or the Clippers for life. That includes games, practices, team meetings or any other functions. He's also not allowed to attend any governors meetings. Sterling will also have to pay the maximum allowable fine of $2.5 million, and Silver says he'll urge the league's board of governors to force a sale of the team.
Sterling has been at the center of a media firestorm since TMZ released audiotapes -- leaked by his girlfriend -- of him making racist remarks about Magic Johnson and others.
